A few of us have been kicking around the idea of tackling the Bling Trail in Southest North Carolina the weekend of February 14-15 and would love to have more C3F folks join in. The trail is roughly 15 miles North of Wilmington, NC. This coincides with The Presidents Holiday weekend. The Bling Trail consists of over 600 caches located within a game preserve area.

We are in, we have been looking to do the trail for some time. I have that Friday off as part of the alternate work schedule. I can also take off Monday without any problems also. USN Radio Chief is having an event on Saturday morning (3.14 pi day) in Wilmington. Depending on our time line, we might want to consider stopping by. Bling3.jpg

The two posts above are talking about weekends roughly a month apart.  Just thought I'd point that out.  Additionally, I would not that WVTim's seminar event is also on 14MAR2014 (Pi Day).

I apparently got the months mix up. Thanks for pointing that out. Disregard the Event.

I would be interested depending on the weekend, what time you are leaving and what day/time that you expect to return.

Team Brush Boy is cancelling out. We learned last evening that GeoApps cannot make it. I personally don't think we have enough people to complete the trail. Hopefully we can get another group together at a later date.

We are planning on doing the trail this coming weekend. We are leaving on Friday February 13th and coming back on Monday the 16th. We are still open to others who may want to join in.

We completed the Bling Trail this weekend. Had a Blast, got my new truck dirty, but it was worth it

Wow - what an adventure! Our small group came through and despite the cold and completed the trail in less than 2 days. We had the wonderful opportunity to complete the Bling Bomb and meet the Bling Trail cache owners. A huge thank you to Leon and Helen for sacrificing the new car smell of their truck for this muddy/dusty expedition. Shane (Dillicach) drove the other half of the group in his pickup truck and we were able to capture some wonderful adventure shots of his off-roading skills.
