In case one or two of you are thinking of attending, we thought we might start a thread here so everyone can share their plans, and perhaps coordinate on mutual interesting cache seeking or event attendance.  I am close to having the calendar on this site up to date with all of the corollary events, and will have that done by Friday of this week.  We are starting to  search for hides we want to go after, as we have not done a lot of caching in that area, any recommendations would be welcome.  Once we have a cache plan in place, or at least a rough one, we'd be happy to share it.  We've already narrowed down what events we hope to attend, and are working on travel bug management, which, as I am sure you are aware, is a major task for us.

I will attending to my MGS President duties most of the weekend.  I am hosting the Frederick event on Friday morning with the Visitor Center.  I plan to be at the kick off of the Hagerstown Park Geotrail, grab the caches and then will be at the Ag Center setting up the MGS booth.  I will be at the booth for the early registration and am trying to make the Forging Community Event later in the evening.
On Saturday I will be manning the booth most of the day.  Stop by and say hi.  If I am not there, I will be nearby and another of the officers will be there.  I will be leaving GW early to set up the CITO event at Doubs Park and then return to the Ag center in the evening for the pathtag trading.
I won't be attending any event the rest of the weekend as I will be trying to recover.
The only caching I will be doing is trying to complete the 8-1-1 Challenge at 5 in the morning of Geowoodstock.

Darn! I was about to say i was interested in the 8-1-1 challenge, but i've exhausted all the MD virts, and my busiest day (in MD) stands at 7 types (no webcam that day). So i guess i'll never qualify for this one. [frown] Stupid challenges! Groundspeak should get rid of them. [tongue]

Of course, the fine-print gives dispensation to substitute events for grandfathered types, but i'm not sure i could live with myself. [wink]

I can live with myself.
I have found both the virtuals at Antietam along with the Wherigo.  So my substitution looks like this.

Event
Mega,
CITO
Eathcache
Traditional
Letterbox
Puzzle
Multi

The Mecklenburg Walkabout virtual isn't too far away. It's 12 stages, but no one says all 12 stages need to be visited on the same day. I wonder where i'll be Monday... [wink] Of course, not being in MD, it won't help with the 8-1-1, but it couldn't hurt to have a virt for the Well-Rounded Cache Type Day stats. I expect there'll be labcaches at GWS? How about new caches of other types? I'll bet if someone placed a new Wherigo nearby it would get slammed with finds.

I just read the fine print on that 8-1-1 challenge, and I am not going to qualify because I haven't found all the webcams and virtuals in MD yet.  I am still going to find 8 different types in Maryland and find the challenge cache and post of note on it instead of a find.
I was able to find 10 cache types at the GW in Indiana a couple of years ago.
